How We Work

I work in a structured way, to ensure consistency and efficiency, and to provide service excellence to my clients.

This means I know who I work best with, and the qualities and commitment required to deliver Sustainable Wealth. Sometimes, that means saying no to prospective clients because I don’t believe we’re a good fit or because I don’t believe I can help. Please don’t be offended if I can’t help you! It’s not a personal slight. Given I build long-term relationships with my clients over many years, it’s really important we can work together, we share similar values, and you are as committed as I am to Sustainable Wealth.

“Do or do not. There is no try.”

When a prospective client says they’ll ‘try’, I sigh inwardly. I know my time and energy will be spent chasing for several weeks, and this will be the sign of things to come. This is one of the reasons why I hold a Discovery Call, to gauge commitment, because the moment you use the word try, you’re giving yourself a mental get out clause; you’ve already decided to fail.

I get you’re busy. I am too.

But ask yourself this: “Do you want me focused and fully committed to your Sustainable Wealth Blueprint™ and Action Plan, or distracted, spending valuable time chasing clients who ‘try’?

That’s why I don’t accept just anyone into my exclusive client club… it wouldn’t be exclusive if I did.

That doesn’t mean all my clients are super-wealthy, far from it, but it does mean they are super-committed. My clients range from Popstars to Plumbers, and the one thing they share is personal commitment to achieving and maintaining Sustainable Wealth. It’s not about how much money you have, but about your values and how much commitment you have.

Meeting and Communication

I am autistic, which means I have non-negotiable communication preferences. You may find me direct and short on neurotypical social etiquette. I consider this, and the ability to laser focus on complex problems, a particularly useful strength.

Please don’t be offended if I get straight to the point. Firstly, offence can only be taken, not given; it’s a choice to ‘feel’ offended. Secondly, I’m here to help you achieve Sustainable Wealth, and well, to be frank, it’s just who I am.

So, most of our work will be virtual, be that over Zoom, secure messaging, or telephone, and there’s good reason for it. I can hardly espouse the importance of Sustainable Wealth when I’m contributing to global warming with unnecessary travel, and it’s far more secure, efficient, and planet- friendly for us to use electronic tools to gather information, hold meetings, and communicate, than it is to revert to old-fashioned paper and face-to-face meetings.

That doesn’t mean we’ll never meet in person, but it does mean most of our work will be virtual. That may not suit you and that’s okay. I wish you well.

Whilst I do everything I can to avoid paper, unfortunately, some providers remain stuck in the dark ages, insisting on a wet signature on an actual piece of paper. How quaint?!

I only answer the telephone for scheduled calls. That doesn’t mean I am unavailable; it just means I’m focused on your work, instead of being distracted. Clients can schedule calls with me at any time using a private link to book time directly in my diary. This is efficient for both of us and ensures I am prepared for your question at the time of our call.

You can always send a secure message through the client portal too. I am contactable, just not by unscheduled telephone.

Charges

I don’t work for free and neither do you. My charges are clear and transparent and can be found here: Terms of Business. I work hard to deliver Sustainable Wealth for you, and you are paying not only for my time, but also my considerable experience and expertise.

I do not do ‘mates-rates’ or discounts, nor do I negotiate my charges. How would you feel if the person next to you was paying completely different charges for a similar service? The FCA feels the same way too… Your Sustainable Wealth Blueprint™ will include full disclosure of charges to recommend and implement your Action Plan, should I choose to offer an implementation service. The charges will reflect fair value for the work I do and the value I bring. If you are lucky enough to have £1m to invest, then my charges may reflect economies of scale. However, if you want to invest your £1m in ten chunks of £100,000, that’s ten times the work…
